​EMPOWERMENT is delighted to partner with a leading Fintech firm to hire a talented Big-Four trained accountant. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on support over international technical accounting and reporting and will involve researching technical accounting matters, drafting related position papers, preparation and review of financial statements, special projects and managing relationships with external auditors.

Responsibilities:

  • Advising the finance team on the accounting implications all non-routine finance transactions e.g. accounting for mergers and acquisitions, group restructurings, refinancing, etc.

  • Advising the business on the impact of new accounting standards and working with them to implement those standards e.g. IFRS15 and IFRS16

  • Advising the business on finance matters, as required, and leading Finance related projects e.g. working on the implementation of a new ERP system/implementing a new revenue process, with a strong technical accounting/controls focus

  • Managing the overall Group consolidated audit and local statutory audits - acting as the gatekeeper between the Group and external auditors

  • Preparation, review and escalation of statutory & consolidated financial statements to the Board

Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or similar discipline

  • Big Four Trained (ACA/ACCA/CPA) with minimum of 7 years' experience (Manager/Senior Manager level)

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of IFRS

  • Superior communication skills and ability to network at all levels of an organisation
